Like "A Man Called Otto," but with golf balls.
Newly-widowed neighbor Carlton Weatherby and seventh-grader Robert Lincoln go from strangers to friends when Robert delivers a "funeral casserole." Over forbidden coffee, Carlton reminisces about the fun he had when working at a local mini-golf course. Inspired, he builds a replica course in his backyard and enlists Robert and his friends to help.
The dream is realized, and once school is out, the neighborhood comes to enjoy some free mini-golf. Carlton finds purpose in his new life, and Robert finally discovers there's something he’s better at than his brother, the genius.
But not everyone is happy that the project is such a success…
