What does it take to be a Warrior?
Talin has trained his entire life to answer that question. Smaller than most Warriors around him, he learned early that strength alone would never be enough.
For the first time in twenty years, the Dark Tribe leaves the isolation of the Shattered Lands and returns to the Summer Solstice Gathering. There, Talin must stand beside young Warriors from the other tribes and face Coming-of-Age Trials designed to test far more than his skill with a blade.
Courage. Wisdom. Honor. Perseverance.
Each Trial brings him closer to the place he has spent his life trying to earn—and one brings him face-to-face with a creature that may kill him before he can claim it.
All the while, a strange raven keeps appearing wherever Talin goes.
Talin came to the Gathering to prove he belongs among the Warriors.
But something seems to be watching him prove it.
