Debby grew up as the middle of a five kid family, in Santa Monica, next to Los Angeles where the freeways cross, always yearning for something beyond what she knew.
Once she finished college, she married and moved with her young family, enjoying the thrill of living in different states.
She married again and loves being part of a big blended family, grandmother of twenty-one, with a growing number of greats.
Being the family historian gave her insights into different cultures and folklore along with many family stories, which sparked the idea for these middle-grade books.
Her light-hearted stories are brought to life by her son / illustrator Ryan Francis Peirce and the comical website designed by middle son Jeffrey G. Peirce.
Getting to write for kids, encouraging them to be okay with being different, free to use their imaginations to come up with solutions, and explore worlds they don't yet know about is what she calls 'gold!'
