Lost dogs. Found family.
Pip is a corgi who loves cheese toasties, his daisy-covered hat, and his girl Evie. He has never crossed a street alone, never spent a night outside, and never had to be brave.
Then the Bumbles arrive.
Snatched from his backyard and thrown into the back of a battered yellow van, Pip finds himself alongside a ragtag pack of stolen dogs in a world far bigger, stranger, and more dangerous than anything he imagined. There are dog catchers and alley cats, junkyards and storm drains, and a guard dog named Diablo who everyone fears.
To get home, Pip and his new friends must escape the people who took them, survive the streets, and rescue one of their own before it's too late. To do that, Pip will have to become more than the pampered pet he's always been.
He'll have to become a leader.
Funny, heartwarming and packed with adventure, Strays is a story about courage, friendship, and the families we choose. Perfect for readers aged 8 to 12 who enjoy Warriors, Dogtown, and stories about unlikely heroes, unforgettable journeys, and dogs braver than they look.
