A Paranormal Hockey Romcom
A romantic adventure featuring cryptids, the world's worst grimoire, and a frankly suspicious number of Connors.
Agent Jessalyn Archer of the Canadian Wildlife Service has an exciting career investigating unusual events. Like mega-fauna. Or ghosts. Or unstable portals, like the one that swallowed her dad six months ago. Always on the road for work, she’s desperate to find him and will take any case that might provide a lead on his whereabouts.
So when a minor league hockey team employee vanishes in a small Alberta town, Jess requests the undercover assignment. Unfortunately for her plans, Riley Swift is also in town. The star hockey player who scored That Goal… and who ghosted her the second he got drafted. Sixteen years later, Jess is over her broken heart—and definitely, 100%, for sure, totally fine with the fact that Riley and his younger brother both seem to be tangled up in the case.
Suddenly, Jess's tidy investigation threatens to spiral out of control as she deals with doppelgängers, cryptids, a local yoga cult, and one very haunted hockey arena. As if that weren't enough, the old chemistry between her and Riley has rekindled with a vengeance. But if Jess can’t uncover the secret he’s been keeping since they parted, it might be the whole town's future on the line, not just theirs.
This elbows-up paranormal hockey romcom is perfect for fans of The Ex Hex, X-Files, and small-town Canadian weirdness.
