Maddox Media, a global corporate monopoly with government influence, owns and controls music exclusively through the International Music Streaming Association. IMSA has been responsible for the confiscation and destruction of physical music media since the Worldwide Popular Music Regulation took effect in 2039.
Punishment for crimes of music preservation has forced the elder generation to either give up the music and the fight, or risk their personal freedom by going underground, forming a secret, illegal “basement network” of archives called the BaseNet.
The teenagers of 2066 have never known a world where music is made by humans. But when an audacious overachiever, a brooding skater, a misunderstood dreamer, and a rebellious athlete suddenly start hearing songs from a hundred years ago in their heads, they band together with the elder outlaws to fight back for music freedom in the greatest music revolution the world has ever heard.
