Fiery Georgina Meets Lost Boy Simon—1980s Windsor
Windsor, 1985. Simon Levi is drifting through a dead-end job and the long shadow of his father’s history, when he meets Georgina—a FLASH-BANG young woman: explosive, unpredictable, and determined to drag him out of his quiet collapse. Against the brilliance of his older sister, Freya, and his father’s lofty ambitions, Simon’s youthful misjudgments and entries in the “logbook of life” stand out with irony. His mother, a kindly but smothering Englishwoman, loves him fiercely. Wanting independence but lacking direction, Simon takes a job at Kandied Kakes, a West London cake and biscuit manufacturer. The job, painful but rich in humour, teaches him principally what he does not want.
