The Search Begins…
Ardel Tol was double-crossed. An elite sellsword known as a breaker in the war-torn world of Væra, Ardel stands at odds with the brutal Melan Empire following a deal gone awry. His defiance soon draws the attention of Milna Hiku, a young woman who believes finding the last of the Erelim, beings possessed of godlike powers, is the key to defeating the empire.
Entering into an uneasy contract with Milna, Ardel sets out on a crusade that is not his own, all the while plotting to reclaim what he’s owed.
Yet in spite of Ardel’s selfish pursuits, Milna remains convinced a secret lies within him that can aid her side to victory. Time is running out to find it, however, as her quest for Væra’s salvation will lead her and Ardel both on a collision course with the Melan Emperor himself.
Soldiers and assassins in pursuit, Ardel will have to utilize all of his skills as a breaker just to survive. And with the stakes this high, it’s up to Milna to prove that there’s more to Ardel Tol than even he believes. Erelim or not.
