She returned to Lake Como a widow to find family’s future resting in her hands.
When Lucia Ferrante comes home after three years of marriage, she finds the silk house of her childhood transformed. Her father is failing, her brother has brought the family silk mill perilously close to ruin, and hundreds of women depend upon it for their livelihoods.
Lucia has no intention of standing by while everything her family built disappears.
Then Matteo Riva arrives.
An ambitious engineer with bold ideas about machinery, efficiency, and the future of silk production, Matteo challenges everything Lucia believes about the craft she was raised to protect. She distrusts his methods, resents his influence, and refuses to surrender generations of tradition merely because progress demands it.
Yet as debts tighten around the Ferrante family and the old ways begin to fail them, Lucia is forced into an uneasy alliance with the one man capable of helping her save the mill.
Working beside Matteo brings dangers neither of them expected. Rivalries sharpen. Loyalties are tested. And somewhere between the thunder of new machinery and the whisper of silk through skilled hands, mistrust begins to give way to something far more dangerous.
Because saving the Ferrante silk house may require Lucia to risk not only her inheritance, but the heart she had sworn never to surrender again.
Set against the shimmering beauty of nineteenth-century Lake Como, Italy, The Silk House of Como is a sweeping historical romance of family, ambition, slow-burning attraction, and one woman’s fight to preserve a legacy while daring to create a future of her own.
