Torthell Robinson is an author, filmmaker, and combat veteran of the United States Air Force whose work blends humor, character-driven storytelling, and unconventional perspectives on life, relationships, and community.
During his military service, Robinson completed two deployments to LSA Anaconda in Balad, Iraq, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, as well as a deployment to Manas, Kyrgyzstan, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
After leaving the Air Force, he moved to Los Angeles and used the Post-9/11 GI Bill to study filmmaking at the New York Film Academy and the Los Angeles Film School. He also trained in improv at Upright Citizens Brigade, an experience that helped shape his approach to dialogue, character development, comedy, and storytelling.
Robinson is the author of Men Will Be Boys, a darkly comedic crime series set in Las Vegas, as well as Father Time and a growing collection of children’s books centered on confidence, service, representation, and community.
