He's a disaster in denial. She's got a service dog who agrees. Falling in love was never part of the plan.
Nash Dragonov is a perfectionist. On the ice, he dominates. Off the ice, he jokes, charms, and keeps things easy, even as migraines wreck his focus and a career-shaking trade pulls him away from the one thing that matters most: his daughter. If he can just push harder, he can fix it… until his game starts slipping and the pressure starts catching up to him.
Then he meets the doctor who makes him a deal: support her charity, keep things simple, and try not to get distracted by the fact that she's still the best kiss of his life sixteen years later.
Sloane Jackson rebuilt her life around careful control after one night changed everything. She trusts her instincts, her routines, and her very opinionated service dog, who immediately decides Nash is trouble. But when Nash agrees to her terms and keeps showing up-for treatment, for fun, for her-with easy confidence, charm, and a way of making even hard days feel lighter, Sloane finds herself doing what she swore she never would again… letting him get close.
But the closer Nash gets, the harder it is for Sloane to keep her distance. Because wanting more means risking more, and if the past she's tried to outrun resurfaces, everything she's rebuilt could come crashing down.
This swoony, clean hockey romcom brings sharp banter, forced proximity, protective dogs, and a hero who falls hard (even if the dog disapproves).
