A week before congratulating her father, Kevin, on one year of sobriety, twenty-two-year-old Alissa learns he has relapsed again. Kevin checks himself into an inpatient rehabilitation program, which hurls Alissa into another cycle of recovery, relapse, rehab, and repeat. But when his severe withdrawal symptoms land him in the emergency room, everything changes. While hospitalized and barely conscious, he mutters a cryptic statement about an unknown family member, leaving Alissa questioning everything she knew about her father and whether she can trust those closest to her.
While Kevin is fighting for his life, Alissa begins to unravel his lies. Her investigation is met with resistance from her grandparents, who are oddly evasive, and her mother, who insists he’s beyond saving.
