Fern Gordon and Elias Bradley have history, but they’d never imagined they’d be living in it.
Fern Gordon never imagined her Broadway dreams would end in humiliation. Back in her childhood bedroom, suffering her insufferable brother’s antics, Fern knows this can’t be the end of her acting career. In desperation, she applies to the most unhinged job listing she’s ever seen: acting (and sleeping) in a living history museum called Spencer House.
Elias Bradley can’t fathom what could be worse than losing out on a lead role on Broadway. That is, until he takes the stage beside his best friend’s sister, knowing she’s going to win the female lead. After a decade-long rivalry, he knows better than anyone how good Fern can be. He also knows no one can be more irritating.
As they settle into their roles opposite each other, Fern and Elias discover that their new employer might be withholding some key details about the job they’ve been hired to do. As they fall more in love with Spencer House, they realize they’re going to have to do more than just acting to keep the place (and their burgeoning relationship) from falling to ruin.
