Blurb

Everyone wants the blade. The blade wants him.

Kaelen has spent his life surviving in the streets of Suundralis. He is an orphan with no allegiances and no one to trust.

When he is chosen to compete in the Great Wielding—a deadly tournament fought between the ruling houses of the realm—Kaelen is pulled into a world of politics, shifting alliances, and ambition.

At the center of it all lies the Emerald Blade, a weapon powerful enough to unite the realm… or plunge it into war. As ancient secrets emerge, Kaelen must decide where his true loyalties lie. Because in a game where every alliance comes with a price, survival might cost him everything.

Riley Stetler is an English teacher from Cincinnati, Ohio. After graduating with a degree in English Education, he moved to Cincinnati to teach creative writing and encourage young writers to find their voices through storytelling.

Reading works such as Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson and The Will of the Many by James Islington inspired Riley to write a story of his own. His debut novel, Between Three Flames, is the first book in the Velkarin Trilogy.
