Welcome to the inaugural season of Last Chance Match, a government-funded dating show for the soulmateless to find their other half. Set in a tropical location, eighteen people will compete for a soulmate and all the benefits that accompany it, including: free healthcare, better education, and exemption from soulmateless extermination. Viewing will be mandatory for all citizens, and compliance will be required for chosen participants.

In the nation of Calasca, those whose blood analysis failed to match with a partner are executed at thirty to control population and uphold natural selection. Struggling waitress and recovered addict Cera has two months to live without a government-assigned soulmate. When she’s chosen for Last Chance Match, she believes it could be the answer to prolong her life. Growing old with her sister could finally become reality, but her plans are uprooted when she meets her perfect match: the late president’s arrogant and mysterious grandson, Ryde.
After a contestant is slain by the robot host, Cera must team up with Ryde to escape, and the only way out is to become the monster the system wants you to be. When the truth of Cera’s past and the show’s purpose collide, Cera is left to choose between staying matched with Ryde and returning home to her sister or sacrificing herself to save Calasca’s future.
