C. (Chris) Behrens is the author of Savanna’s Treasure, which received the Silver Medal in the 2015 Moonbeam Awards for the Early Reader / 1st Chapter Book category. Chris received his bachelor’s degree from Dominican College in New York. He lives in Montvale, New Jersey, with his daughters and is a longtime employee of the Borough of Woodcliff Lake, N.J.C. Behrens began writing while attending college on weekends, working full-time, and raising two daughters. Ironically, he had initially tried to avoid English classes when returning to college as an adult. However, inspired by his professors, he grew to love reading and writing.
In 2023, he received an award from Writer's Digest for his poem: a basketballer's ditty (Rhyming Poetry was the category) This poem is being turned into a picture book and is expected to be available in 2025!
In addition to graduating Magna Cum Laude from Dominican University in 2010, Behrens earned a Public Works Management Certificate from Rutgers in 2017. He considers watching his daughters play high school softball the best time of his life.
