It was the best of crimes, it was the worst of crimes.
It’s Christmas time in Hawthorne Cove, and new resident bookstore owner Chloe Sinclair has never been more excited to celebrate. The Dickens’ Festival her best friend Daphne is throwing has the charming seaside town looking more magical than ever, and for a moment, Chloe feels like she is living in a storybook. But when a food critic drops dead during dinner, and Jack, the man she’s falling for, is arrested for murder, suddenly things are looking infinitely less merry and bright.
Chloe knows Jack didn’t do this, but proving it is a different matter. With the festival in full swing, Chloe and Daphne must follow a trail of old grudges and buried secrets to uncover the truth. And they’d better do it fast—because in Hawthorne Cove, it may be the season of peace and goodwill—but someone has murder on their Christmas list.
