The dead man's widow knows his death was no accident….
When IT consultant Calvin Cross dies suddenly on a flight into Heathrow, Ember Lockhart, a former Scotland Yard detective turned private eye, is asked to investigate. Within days of taking the case, Ember is followed, threatened and warned to walk away. Her curiosity piqued, she digs deeper, with reluctant assistance from ex-colleague (and former lover) Leo Campbell. She uncovers a far-reaching conspiracy of political blackmail, corporate espionage and a plot to destabilise the UK government. But before she can act, Calvin’s wife is murdered and Ember is framed for the crime. Arrested and fighting for her life, the closer Ember comes to the truth, the more dangerous the case becomes.
The Capture meets Mick Herron, BURIED IN SILENCE is a fast-paced, conspiracy thriller set in London. In a world where we are increasingly questioning the role and influence of technology, this novel would appeal to fans of Cara Hunter, Tana French and Jo Callaghan.
