What dark secret is Cokers Creek so desperate to keep?
When lawyer Claire Drayton inherits her uncle's legal practice, it feels like a chance to begin again. Haunted by the car accident that killed a child, cost her a leg and left her burdened with fear and guilt, Claire takes her nine-year-old twin daughters and leaves Sydney for the remote New South Wales town of Cokers Creek.
Set like an oasis in the harsh rural landscape, the town is strangely prosperous—its beauty at odds with the country around it. But Cokers Creek is no welcoming refuge. The locals are watchful, wary and secretive. Most unsettling of all is their interest in her daughters.
As Claire begins to uncover the truth she realises that the town's wealth is built on something far darker than she could ever have imagined. And by the time she understands the danger, it's already closing in on her children.
