It may only be recreational sports, but this kickball season, it’s going to be winner take all.
Jesse loves kickball season. Maybe it’s the friends he plays with. Maybe it’s the Spring weather and spending time outdoors. Maybe it’s that he’s competitive as hell. The only damper in his enjoyment is the captain of Serving Base, who keeps rallying his team to sweep the championship out from under Jesse’s feet the last few seasons. Jesse can deal with losing. What he can’t deal with is winners who act like complete assholes about it.
Ethan loves kickball season. He loves the community and being outdoors and beating Jesse’s team, Pitch Slap. The more he wins, the more it feeds into the flirty little rivalry they have going on. Or so he thinks. As the new kickball season starts, Ethan begins to suspect he’s been misinterpreting the situation. Badly.
When Ethan starts acting differently around him, Jesse can’t help but be suspicious, wondering if this is a new tactic to get in his head. All Ethan wants is a chance to show Jesse that he’s not the asshole he’s come across as, and if he’s lucky, get another chance with him.
