Nick lives in Wales with his family, where he runs his own business and writes fiction alongside a life shaped by the sea, music, and long stretches of quiet concentration. He surfs when he can, prefers animals to crowds, and treats music as both refuge and company, songs, rather than rooms, being where he does most of his socialising.
Writing is not his profession but a serious, long-term pursuit. His novels explore power, pressure, and the point at which systems begin to harden, and people change with them.
The Border Reiver began as an origin story: the first fault lines beneath a divided England. The War Machine is what followed. Each novel stands alone, but together they trace how fracture becomes force.
The War Machine is a complete reworking of an earlier draft that was briefly released and then withdrawn. This edition reflects the finished story, completed with the time and distance it required.
The Border Reiver was optioned for film in 2024 by Pinsharp Pictures and is currently in development, with filming planned for 2026.
Nick writes quietly and with intent. The reward is in the story.
