A nightmare is a wish your fear makes…
With one nightmare, everything teenage witch, Seraphina Grey, knew to be true was proven wrong. Again. And Seraphina has no one left to blame but herself. Not Logan. Not Cole. She can’t even blame Phoenix. There’s no time. Because now Charlotte Grey is missing, the High Council is hunting them, and the apocalypse is fast approaching. And as more lies are exposed, witch traps set, and demons summoned, their friendships are tested, loyalties questioned, and the trust between the foursome threatens to break.
Then, when an old ‘friend’ and infamous witch hunter calls Logan (on repeat) for help on a monster hunt, the one thing Seraphina never believed possible happens: Logan leaves. And in his absence, Seraphina turns to dark magic for answers and makes a choice that will forever alter the course of their journey. But when Logan stops answering his phone, Seraphina heads to the notorious Carnival of Nightmares to track him down. And if he isn’t in trouble, she sure will be… when she tells him what she did.
Meanwhile, Logan is struggling with past choices of his own. Apparently, he messed up. The monster that had haunted the Carnival of Nightmares eight years ago is back. On top of that, the pressure of leading the group is getting to him. So, when self-proclaimed ‘slayer,’ Frances Brennan, demands that he fix his mistake, Logan leaves. Even if it means digging up secrets he’d hoped to keep buried. Because just like the monster, they’re coming back to haunt him.
But if they’re ever going to survive their nightmares, they’re both going to need to start talking. Because a nightmare’s just a wish your fear makes… and what is fear, but a truth you don’t want to face?
