Blurb

A murdered woman. Two confessions. One deadly lie.

When twenty-two-year-old Giselle Zahra is found brutally murdered in her Senglea home, Inspector Lydia Falzon believes the case is simple. Two housemates. Two confessions.

Case closed.

Until the details stop making sense.

Giselle wasn’t the innocent girl everyone remembers. The confessions don’t match. And the deeper Lydia digs, the clearer it becomes—someone else was there that night.

Someone who never came forward.

As the investigation unravels, Lydia is pulled into a web of obsession, manipulation, and betrayal where nothing is as it seems—and the truth is more dangerous than the lie.

Because when it finally surfaces…

it won’t bring justice.

It will bring something far worse.

The Unfortunate Girl is a gripping psychological crime thriller featuring Inspector Lydia Falzon—perfect for fans of Freida McFadden, Lisa Jewell, and twisty, character-driven suspense.

Set in the same universe as the Theodore series.
