Justin Robert (J.R) Shapland began his journey into writing at the very mature age of eleven when he finished his 12-page screenplay for "Maybe?", a Friends / Scream crossover.
From that point forward, his pen rarely left the page, scribbling poetry, songs, and a myriad of short stories. In 2010, during the development of a video game, J.R. wrote the first pages of what would eventually become his debut novel, THE IMMORTAL WORDS. The first few chapters were shelved as J.R. continued his education in mathematics and engineering at the University of Nebraska. In 2021, though, J.R.'s future wife encouraged him to continue his writing journey.
Now, J.R. spends his time creating worlds, spinning records, attending concerts, and traveling the world. His favorite places to write are rooftop bars surrounded by mountains, desks with windows overlooking forests, his favorite coffee shop, and his own private deck—the latter unfortunately gets far more time than the others. He currently lives in Omaha with his wife and son.
