S.C. Karakaltsas, a Melbourne-based writer, is the author of five historical fiction novels. She grew up on a dairy farm in South-East Queensland where her love of books began, setting the stage for her future literary endeavours.
After navigating the labyrinths of the corporate world for many years, she followed her passion for storytelling, bringing to life stories about little-known places and events. Her inspiration has come from a real-life double murder on a Central Pacific Island to the forced kidnapping of children during the Greek Civil War. Her most recent novel, Sugar Creek is set in Far-North Queensland and surrounds the disappearance of a man. Funnily enough, most of her works are set in and around 1948.
When she’s not writing, she indulges in her love of reading and blogs about the books that captivate her.
