D. Wayne Berman was born in New York City and has spent most of his life in large metropolitan areas. Since retiring, he now lives on a farm in the mountains north of Los Angeles, where he helps his partner care for animals and a large fruit orchard while continuing to write.
Before retiring, he worked as an environmental scientist studying how pollutants move through air, water, and soil to understand human exposure and health impacts. Alongside his scientific career, he has maintained a lifelong interest in politics and world affairs.
His interest in how social and political systems shape real-world outcomes informs his writing.
Righteous Resistance is his first published novel.
