Hazel grew up in East Tennessee, in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains. She currently lives in Alaska with her family. She has over a decade of experience working with victims of violent crimes as an attorney, and I Was Never Broken is her first published novel.
When she's not writing or working, she's crocheting or watching sports with her family. She is a third generation Tennessee Vol and a rabid Detroit Lions fan.
