I've worn many professional hats besides that of author, including secondary school science teacher, professional pastry cook, and field biologist. I live in the Upper Midwest, United States, with my human family, an elderly Border-Jack, and four snakes. When not spending time with family or writing, I'm often found hiking, dabbling in nature macro photography, knitting, or baking sweet treats.
