Anne Aspler is a Harvard-trained emergency physician and the author of Rise After Silence: An ER Doctor and the Patients Who Healed Her, a memoir tracing the threads between the patients she treated and the private violence she survived. She writes and speaks about women's brain health, religious deconstruction, neurodivergence, and the realities of intimate partner violence—decoding what medicine, faith, and silence cost us, and what healing actually requires.
A keynote speaker for corporate audiences including RBC and Scotiabank, she holds an academic appointment at the University of Toronto and has spent over two decades in emergency departments in Canada and abroad, including humanitarian work overseas. She is an advocacy partner of EVE (End Violence Everywhere).
Anne lives in Toronto with her husband and two daughters. When she isn't writing or on shift, she's reading memoir, exercising, or planning the next chapter of her Radical Brain Health project—her Substack, YouTube channel, and forthcoming second book (2027).
