Kelly is an archaeologist from Sheffield and writes fantasy books for readers of various ages in her spare time. Archaeology, history and folklore often creep into her stories, and she enjoys exploring different time periods and settings through her writing. Kelly has taken inspiration from all sorts of stories, and is a particular fan of Tolkien, Terry Pratchett, Philip Pullman, Nina Bawden, Jacqueline Wilson, Alan Garner, and Michelle Paver. As well as being an avid reader, Kelly loves gaming and is especially drawn to games that fuel her imagination, with vast, sprawling worlds she can explore. She also seeks inspiration from nature and enjoys walking in the countryside and (when opportunity permits) by the coast.
