Sophie Hession is a qualified counsellor and author based in Newcastle upon Tyne. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Counselling and a Master’s in Creative Writing, combining professional expertise with personal experience to explore the psychology of love, obsession, and attachment. Through fiction, she shares insights that resonate with those navigating the complexities of human connection.
Her debut novel, Pick Me, portrays the painful, repetitive cycles of limerence—an intense form of romantic obsession often mistaken for love—and the courage it takes to move toward authentic, lasting relationships.
Sophie is currently writing the sequel, Fearfully Attached, which continues Alice’s journey while delving into the challenges of disorganised attachment.
Outside of her work, Sophie enjoys reading novels, watching travel vlogs on YouTube, playing Pokémon, and visiting theme parks. Through her books and future workshops, she hopes to inspire others while continuing to deepen her own learning and practice.
