Naomi grew up in the wilds of Dorset, raised by hippies in a commune that was once a rectory and then a school. The old school library remained, full of textbooks on the geography of places that had since taken different names, and a host of classics that she worked her way through. The commune lacked two things beloved of teenagers – a television and other teenagers. So, she filled her days with reading and cooking, milking cows, crafting, and hanging out with the adults.
Now, she lives with her husband on the desert island of Fuerteventura, happily mangling Spanish with the locals, making friends with street cats and swimming as often as possible in the myriad lagoons, coves and sea pools there.
