Joey Coleman was born in White Rock, BC, Canada. She grew up in White Rock and moved to Victoria for 4 years to pursue her passion for Theatre at the University of Victoria. It is while receiving her BFA in Theatre that she completed her first book, Marbles (2015), written under her maiden name Joey Baumgartel. She is now a registered Sign Language Interpreter in BC. She intends to further writing career and publish her new YA dark fantasy series The Talish Trilogy, starting with book one The Darkness in Us coming December 2025. She currently lives in BC, Canada with her husband and daughter.
