Aurelia Tessar writes adult fantasy and speculative fiction shaped by curiosity, unusual systems, forgotten histories, and the complicated ways people build lives together.
Before turning to fiction, she spent twenty years designing and building things in the real world. Her background in architecture, years of travel, and fascination with the hidden patterns behind music, movement, art, and science now inform the worlds she creates.
Her stories tend toward mature characters, thoughtful relationships, strange questions, and a sense that the world may be more interesting than it first appears.
When she isn’t writing, she can usually be found reading very long fantasy novels, studying something unnecessarily specific, or being supervised by her cat, Oberon.
