Melody DeLeon has dreamed of being a full-time writer ever since she read her first book at the age of 6. She grew up in restaurants and spent her teenage years on a ranch: building fences, riding horses, milking cows (no machines!), and feeding cattle.
Melody loves obscure historical facts, pre-history, mythologies of all kinds, and the strange, but true tales of anything. These fire her imagination and gets that age-old “what if?” flowing through her brain. She searches for ways to incorporate these in her writing.
She loves to travel, loves the beach and lakes, and most museums. She loves learning about people who lived before industrialization, during medieval times and earlier. She is fascinated by early civilizations, their ingenious inventions and lifestyles.
Melody lives in Southeast Texas, and is subject to the whims of her cat, Yuri. He’s very bossy and has much to say about her lifestyle. She has weight training twice a week, attends a critique group every other Tuesday, and chats with writer friends frequently.
