J. Cabral-Jackson is a family doctor and a writer, based in the UK. She has a Masters in Creative Writing from the University of Manchester, studying under Professor Jeanette Winterson, Geoff Ryman and Ian McGuire. Her novel Louis & Marguerite was a finalist in the Pulp Idol Novel Competition 2018 and she is an NYC Midnight Screenwriting Competition finalist.
Her writing publications include Hex, The Morality Test, Second Life, Temporal Distortion, The Ark, Project V.V., Agent Prime Collision, The Boy With The Lungs Of A Lion, My Name is Vincent, and The Ocean's Call published by Sci-Fi Shorts. Her short story Miriam and Her 13,149 Days was voted Publication of The Month (March 2024) by Spillwords Press readers.
She is a Gen X writer and loves reading, swimming in wild beaches, and travelling. You can always spot her with a book in one hand and a pen in the other. Her guitar Daisy is feeling a bit unloved but she hopes to pick it up again. She lives in Canterbury with her wife Lou and her pet family (Snow, The Whippet and three rescue cats, Lady, Leo and Aggie).
