Ira Russell has spent a lifetime observing how people adapt to change. After living in thirty different homes across sixteen cities and two countries—including a few years in Guatemala—he developed a unique fascination with the mechanisms of human behavior and societal survival.
That constant relocation drove him to earn a degree in sociology, followed by seven years working directly with individuals facing profound mental and behavioral challenges. This combination of transient living and deep psychological work fiercely informs his writing. When crafting character-driven speculative fiction, he doesn't just ask "what if"—he applies decades of studying human resilience and fragility to the answer.
A bilingual creator fluent in Spanish, Ira can often be found writing music and performing on stage with his band, crafting leatherwork, or waking up hours before the rest of the world to write. After a lifetime on the move, he has finally dropped anchor in Idaho, where he plans to stay put and build dystopian worlds from the comfort of his own home.
