Nicknamed “She-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Tamed” by the media—and “The Most Interesting Woman in the World” by dubious sources—S. Lucia Kanter St. Amour is an arresting cross-genre author, attorney, and UN Women VP emerita.
She writes across women’s historical fiction, feminist theory, negotiation and persuasion, children’s fable, art and poetry, and social commentary. Lucia also hosts the podcast Forces of Good, known for its social, cultural, and historical approach to negotiation—grounded in the conviction that negotiation isn’t just for business; it’s everybody’s business.
She is the fastidious and devoted mother of five boys (three canine, two human), the founder of a nonprofit supporting families of children with special needs, and a lifelong pianist and home cook of legitimate Italian cuisine. She has learned and used six languages, and lives in San Francisco, where she is the fifth of six generations of her Italian family rooted in the North Beach neighborhood.
