Dr. Barry Stockhamer, a former special education teacher and principal, witnessed firsthand how kindness practiced early helps children thrive and grow into compassionate individuals. This story celebrates empathy, kindness, caring, and helping others, including children who may feel left out or alone—lessons that stay with children long after the final page is turned. Using fantasy talking animals presents a gentle calm way to deliver important social emotional values and behavior.
Dr Stockhamer spent 31 years with the Los Angeles Dodgers as Vice President of Marketing, where he created award-winning programs honoring teachers and students. Dr Stockhamer holds an EdD in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern California. He taught special education at the elementary and high school level. As assistant principal he directed the Counseling Office, and Special Education Department. He served as Principal at a Title I elementary school in Indio, California.
