Klood P. Trouvay writes adult low fantasy defined by morally grey characters and real consequences. Fascinated by psychology and sociology, his writing features characters shaped by power, class, fear, and the deals they make just to keep going.
An introvert and natural observer, Klood pays close attention to what people hide and what they trade for safety. He reads extensively about history, building practical, lived-in worlds where trade and politics shape everyday life long before the swords come out. Heavily influenced by Joe Abercrombie and George R. R. Martin, he favors a character-first approach where every choice has teeth.
When he isn’t writing, he’s usually buried in research books or walking forest trails with his dog, who is convinced every chapter break requires fresh air. On match days, he can be found shouting at the television—briefly reminded that some forces don’t care what you planned, much like the characters in his ongoing New Merserat series.
“I write the stories I want to read—tales of flawed characters navigating hard choices in worlds that don’t reward wishful thinking.”
