Makayla grew up in a little town near Madison, Wisconsin, reading Twilight, City of Bones, Vampire Academy, and many other fantasy romance novels. She graduated college with an art and elementary education degree, which she enjoyed but not as much as storytelling. When not writing, she's most likely reading, spending time with her family and friends, attempting to garden, or finding a new restaurant with her fiance.
Her passion for writing started in high school when she took a creative writing class for fun. But it wasn't until she went to college that she attempted her first story. She never finished it, not until she graduated and realized she loved to write and needed to make her story the best she could. Through a lot of learning and meeting wonderful authors, Makayla finally finished her debut novel, Wings of Lies.
