Lisa Riggs, Psy.D., is a licensed psychologist and Certified EMDR therapist in private practice in Orange County, California. Her work centers on trauma, PTSD, and chronic illness. She holds a doctorate in clinical psychology from Pepperdine University and has taught psychology at the graduate and undergraduate levels, supervised doctoral trainees, and worked with chronically ill children and their families—including a training year at the same hospital where she was treated for cancer as a child.
Diagnosed with alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma at age seven, she survived years of treatment in an era when most children didn’t. The late effects of that treatment eventually took her away from her practice for a season—the season that became the heart of this book—before she returned to the work on new terms. All These Fish is her first book.
She lives in coastal Orange County with her husband, Curt, and their dogs, and enjoys painting and photography.
