Like the protagonists in my books, I was a misfit as a child. I suffer from mild dyslexia, ADD, and social anxiety. This resulted in me getting bullied horribly and made it hard to find friendship and do well in school. I survived by escaping into a private world of inventions, music, art, cooking, and, later in life, writing. I guess this is why my stories are fantasies and have themes of finding friendship and learning to believe in yourself.
I grew up in Pennsylvania in the sixties/seventies/eighties and reside just outside Boston. After attending six different colleges to study art, electronics, computer science, and psychology, I earned a B.S. in Psychology and later in life, an M.A. in Human Relations, Specializing in Holistic Counseling Psychology, from Lesley University.
I discovered my love for writing and storytelling as I read books to my children. On a whim, I started telling them ad-hoc stories, and that lead to me writing premeditated ones (they liked those better). I work as a software engineer, which I love, but there are few things I love as much as sitting down to craft language and bring my characters and their world to life.
