A. W. Morisseau was born in Belleville, Illinois, and grew up in the St. Louis area. He has always enjoyed storytelling and found the inspiration to take up novel writing while reading classic tales by Tolkien and C. S. Lewis to his children. He has written in multiple genres including science fiction, fantasy, and young adult comedy. It was in crime fiction, however, that he found his niche. Drawing from his experience as a police officer in the city of St. Louis, Morisseau brings a level of authenticity to the Detective Darren Cutright series that sets him apart from others in the genre.
Morisseau is also a husband, father of two, pastor, and world traveler. His hobbies include guitar, fitness, chess, combat sports, and reading.
