Layla Raz Hanson wrote her first book at eight years old—an illustrated epic about a runaway hamster that set off her desire to be an author. Many years and one Theatre degree from UC San Diego later, she’s proud to be publishing her debut fantasy series, this time with fewer rodents and—hopefully—better grammar. She’s taught writing for over a decade while simultaneously pursuing a career in the medical field, and is deeply passionate about stories that mix adventure, emotion, and characters who make you feel seen. When she’s not writing, you’ll find her hanging out with her Husky-Malamute and two black cats, rewatching The Mummy (1999) or wandering through bookstores she probably shouldn’t be left alone in.
