Steven C. Vogel is the author of The Ghost Writer, a Florida noir psychological thriller, and an award-winning writer, editor, and creative director. Over a multi-decade commercial career, he completed thousands of assignments for global brands like IBM, Disney, Pratt & Whitney, and Dole Foods. Along the way, he ghostwrote speeches for CEOs and politicians, interviewed business leaders worldwide, created national TV campaigns, and worked as a freelancer covering sports, finance, and health care.
A longtime South Florida resident, he channels over five decades of the state's tropical allure and darker undercurrents into his fiction. Awarded the Hemingway Award for short fiction, Steven pairs a copywriter's instinct for brisk pacing with a novelist’s eye for atmosphere and tension. When stepping away from thrillers, he explores teen friendship and coastal mystery-adventures in his upcoming YA sports series, beginning with Raising Sloop John B (2027).
A University of Florida alumnus with a degree in English Literature, Steven lives in Northeast Florida, outside Jacksonville, with his wife, Lorraine, and their two cats.
