M.R. Madonna grew up in Queens with a childhood dream of writing songs, which mostly just hooked him on storytelling. He studied journalism at NYU, began his career in the editorial department at New York magazine, and later took an unexpected detour into finance and corporate consulting. Today, he lives with his partner on a former Christmas tree farm in northwest Connecticut. His massive vinyl collection from his early DJ days made the move with him, and when he isn't writing, he’s usually gardening, reading, baking homemade bread and pizza, or uncorking a good Chianti. His debut novel, Every Silent Thing, is inspired in part by his own childhood.
