Jessica is a board-certified chaplain and writer in Texas. She spent the majority of her career as a pediatric chaplain with a focus on spiritual play, staff support, and family-centered spiritual and emotional support for children and families facing traumas, end-of-life, and childhood cancer. She currently provides grief support to families who lost a loved one on hospice. Her debut book is a grief memoir through the lens of grief math. Her mother died at age 44, and Jessica was 17. She wrote The Sum of Grief: A Daughter's Memoir as she faced the final grief math problems of turning the age her mother was when she died and outliving her mother.
