Gavin Joseph Irby was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, where he spent his youth buried in science-fiction and fantasy novels. He graduated from Whitman College and made a brief attempt at a musical career before joining the History of Religions department at the University of Virginia. After completing his coursework, Gavin abandoned his dissertation and made the natural and logical decision to become a videogame designer instead. Since 2006, he has worked with the enormously talented people at Bungie, Jagex, Blizzard Entertainment, Netflix, and now Warner Brothers. He currently lives in California with his incredible and supportive wife.
