Cate Rayne lives in central North Carolina with her husband, two teenage sons, two moody cats, and two non-egg-laying chickens. For her day job, she works as a nurse anesthetist at the local hospital, and for her evening, weekend, and every-hour-in-between job, she writes creative fantasy novels. Cate loves the NC mountains and traveling to places that remind her of the landscapes she writes about—Iceland, Scotland, Italy, Washington state, and Banff, Canada. Her favorite pastimes include visiting local bookshops, bakeries, and coffee shops with friends, watching Brandon Sanderson or other YouTubers talk about the art of writing, and growing her Spotify playlist for upcoming books.
